Hello!
Meet Dr. Shelby Wolf
I know how overwhelming it can feel when you're worried about your child. Maybe you've noticed they're struggling in ways that don't quite make sense, or you're searching for answers that feel just out of reach. As a mom and a pediatric psychologist, I understand that behind every question about your child is a parent who loves them deeply and wants to see them flourish.

My passion is helping families like yours discover how your child's unique brain works - because when we understand the "why" behind their behaviors and challenges, we can unlock their incredible potential together.

My Training & Background
A Combination of Specialized Credentials
My training includes several specialized credentials that support comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluation:
-
PhD in School Psychology - Doctoral training focused on learning, development, and educational systems, with specific emphasis on assessment and intervention.
-
BCBA-D (Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Doctoral Level) - Advanced certification in behavioral analysis, which supports expertise in autism spectrum disorders and behavioral assessment.
-
ADOS-2 Certified - Specialized training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, considered a gold-standard tool for autism evaluation.
-
Licensed Psychologist - Licensed in Minnesota, Arizona, and Colorado.
Research & Continuing Education
I've contributed to published research in behavioral interventions, assessment, and pediatric psychology, which helps me stay current with evolving practices in the field. I also maintain active involvement in professional organizations including the American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, and Association for Behavior Analysis - International.

Focused Practice
My practice is dedicated to neurodevelopmental evaluation, which allows for focused experience with children presenting with learning, behavioral, and developmental concerns. This focused practice has provided experience with a wide range of presentations and complexities.

Why This Training Combination Can Be Helpful
The combination of school psychology and behavioral analysis backgrounds provides perspective on both academic and behavioral aspects of development. This can be particularly helpful when children present with concerns that span multiple areas, or when the picture isn't immediately clear.
For example, attention difficulties might relate to ADHD, anxiety, autism, learning challenges, or a combination. The breadth of training helps in understanding these complex presentations.

Comprehensive neurodevelopmental profiles
Bringing Specialized Care to Southern Minnesota
For years, families in Southern Minnesota had to drive 90+ minutes to the Twin Cities or other metropolitan for comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations. They faced $3,500-$5,000 costs and 6-12 month wait times.
I created Clarity Assessments to bring this specialized expertise to our community - providing the same gold-standard assessment tools and comprehensive service at a more accessible price point, with much shorter wait times, right here in Mankato.
How I Work With Families
I believe every child has unique strengths and challenges that deserve to be fully understood. My evaluations go beyond checking boxes - I take time to understand your child as a whole person, in the context of your family and their daily life.

You'll never feel rushed.
You'll always feel heard.
And you'll walk away with clear answers and practical strategies that actually work.
Outside the Office
When not at work, I love spending time with my family, friends, and getting out in nature in our beautiful river valley here in Mankato!
