Frequently Asked Questions
I'm an out-of-network provider, which means you pay at the time of service and then can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Through our partnership with Mentaya, they handle the paperwork for you. However, reimbursement is NOT guaranteed and varies by plan. You can check your specific benefits using the Mentaya tool on our homepage before booking.
We recommend calling your insurance BEFORE scheduling to ask about out-of-network benefits for neuropsychological testing.
We will also chat more about cost and payment options during your intake appointment!
Our comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluations are $3,000. Focused evaluations for one primary diagnostic question are $2,500. You pay a $750 deposit when scheduling your intake appointment, and the remaining balance ($2,250 for comprehensive; $1,750 for focused) is due at your feedback session. We offer payment plans for the remaining balance.
Everything!
The cost includes:
• Comprehensive parent and/or caregiver interview (intake appointment)
• Testing session(s) with your child (2-6 hours, depending on evaluation type)
• Scoring and interpretation of all measures
• Detailed written report (15-25 pages for comprehensive; 8-12 pages for focused)
• Feedback session to review results (60-90 minutes)
• All insurance documentation (superbill)
• 30-minute consultation within 30 days after the feedback session to check-in
• Coordination with schools or other providers (as needed)
There are no hidden fees or surprise charges.
No! You only need $750 to get started. This deposit secures your spot on the calendar. The remaining balance ($2,250 for comprehensive; $1,750 for focused) is due at your testing session, and we can arrange payment plans for that remaining balance if needed.
Yes! The intake appointment deposit is fully refundable if you cancel 48+ hours (3 days) before your scheduled intake appointment. This gives me time to offer the spot to another family. Intake deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made less than 48 hours before your appointment or for no-shows.
INTAKE APPOINTMENT POLICIES

• Reschedule to a different available date and time at no charge, OR
• Request a full refund of your $750 deposit
Example: For a Monday 9:00 AM appointment, you must notify us by the prior Saturday at 9:00 AM or earlier.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice:
• A late cancellation fee of $375 will be retained from your deposit

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), debit cards, cash, and HSA/FSA cards. Insurance reimbursement is NOT guaranteed and varies significantly by plan.
Here's what we know:
• Many families with out-of-network benefits receive 50-80% reimbursement
• Some families receive less than 50%
• Some families receive no reimbursement
• Coverage depends on your specific plan, deductible status, and plan restrictions
BEFORE booking, we strongly recommend:
1. Use the Mentaya benefits checker on our homepage
2. Call your insurance to verify out-of-network mental health benefits
3. Ask specifically about CPT codes 96130, 96131, 96136, 96137, and 90971
4. Understand your deductible and out-of-network limits
5. Plan your budget assuming you may not receive reimbursement
You are responsible for payment in full regardless of what your insurance decides to reimburse.
You can submit to insurance after you receive your final report with the superbill (insurance documentation). This typically happens within 48 hours of your feedback session. Mentaya will guide you through the submission process, but remember that reimbursement is not guaranteed.
If your insurance approves reimbursement, it typically takes 4-8 weeks from submission. However:
• Some insurance companies are faster, some slower
• Some claims get denied and require appeals (which Mentaya handles!)
• Some claims need additional documentation
• Timeline varies significantly by insurance company Mentaya tracks your claim and follows up, but cannot guarantee payment or timeline.
After your $750 deposit, you can split the remaining balance into 2-3 payments.
For Comprehensive ($3,000 total):
• $750 deposit + two $1,125 payments (one due at the testing session and the second due at the feedback/results session)
For Focused ($2,500 total): •
• $750 deposit + two $875 payments (one due at the testing session and the second due at the feedback/results session)
We'll work with you to create a plan that fits your budget!
Actually, no! Twin Cities providers typically charge $3,500-$4,900 for comprehensive evaluations. We charge $3,000, which is 15-40% less. Plus, you save money on gas, time off work, and childcare for multiple trips to the metro area.
